# monstrous.dev — we harness monsters (Markdown source of https://monstrous.dev/)

Software that took a team months now takes weeks — if you know how to hold the new technology. monstrous.dev builds software with LLMs: smart, quick, reliable — together with you, priced on results, never on hours.

## Why monstrous.dev exists

The technology that could give a small company an edge was locked behind big-company budgets and jargon. That lock is broken. Software that gives a small company an edge — orders that run themselves, reports that write their own first draft, customers who book and pay without phoning you — used to cost big-company money and take big-company time. No more. LLMs, the engines behind the AI you've heard about, let a focused builder make in weeks what took a team months.

monstrous.dev exists to hand you that edge. We build together with you — in your language, not ours — and we price on the result, not on our hours. If software isn't the answer, we'll tell you that too.

Facts: what we build is software that gives small companies an edge; the sweet spot is greenfield — fresh, LLM-powered builds; the mode is build-together (you see it and steer it); the price model is fixed, on measurable outcomes, never hourly.

## What we do

**Ideation — €100–500, fixed.** A session, not a sales call. We sit with you, map where technology creates competitive advantage and where more value is hiding, and you leave with a plain-English plan — including the exact price of building each part of it. If no build makes sense, you keep the plan and we part as friends.

**Prototype before you commit.** A small working version so you can touch the thing before the big price.

**Builds in short bursts.** We build solo, then show you what works. Every demo is a steer point: keep going, change course, or run what exists now.

**Prices you know before you commit.** Never hourly. After Ideation you get good calculations upfront, and every build is priced against your goal and measurable results.

**Where we're at our best.** Greenfield: a blank page and an LLM engine. Software that reads, writes, decides and checks its own work — the kind of build where the new speed really shows.

**Care after launch.** We run what we build — improving and refining it as your company uses it. Our own apps have run in public for years; yours gets the same treatment.

## How building together works

1. **Ideate.** One session, €100–500. We find the advantage and the value; you get a plain-English plan with real prices.
2. **Prototype.** A rough working version, fast — something you can click, not a slide.
3. **Build.** Short bursts of solo building, each ending in a demo you react to. Every price was fixed upfront, against results you can measure.
4. **Care.** We keep it running, improving and refining — or hand you the keys.

You always have the wheel: at every steer point the choice is yours — iterate further, change course, or take the current result and run it. You'll never wonder what's happening, and you'll never be surprised at the end.

## What we hold to

1. **Speed is a feature** — the new rate of creativity and agility is real, and you get it.
2. **Plain language, always** — you should understand every sentence: on the page, in the plan, on the invoice.
3. **Built in public** — our apps run in the open, our code is on GitHub; judge us by what we ship.
4. **Small companies deserve good software** — the craft big companies buy shouldn't be out of reach for a ten-person business.

## Proof, not promises

Our own apps, live in public: Snooze (snooze.monster — reminders that reach you) and Dart (dart.monster — darts without the chalk) are live; Reporting (first-draft reports) and Segment (data slices, no data team) are in build. Companies we've worked with: Hoipippeloi, Faber Reclame, IKEA — case stories on request. The open source lives at github.com/monstrous-dev: patterns, starters and tools extracted from shipped work, free to fork.

## What we don't do

- No hourly billing — prices are fixed against outcomes.
- No staff augmentation — you hire us to deliver something that works, not to rent developers.
- No legacy rescues — abandoned codebases from others are not taken over.
- No enterprise theatre — no six-month RFPs, no vendor portals; small companies only.
- No technology without an outcome — if you can't name the result, we won't build it.
